Learning & Development

The Oaklea Trust is committed to a partnership with all of its employees to enable them to access a wide range of Learning and Development opportunities. These opportunities form part of the induction process and continue throughout an employees’s career with the Trust. They are designed to ensure that employees are able to acquire the knowledge and develop the skills required to do their job.

The quality and breadth of the Learning and Development opportunities made available to employees by The Oaklea Trust has been acknowledged through Investors in People accreditation and independent inspections by external agencies such as the Commission for Social Care Inspection and the Adult Learning Inspectorate.

There are certain common components to Learning and Development which all employees will undertake. In addition, every job role within the Oaklea Trust has a Competence Framework assigned to it which identifies further job specific learning and development elements. As employees progress within the organisation there are further opportunities to access both internal training and nationally recognised and accredited external awards.

As well as fulfilling a range of important statutory requirements Learning and Development opportunities give our employees the chance for ‘personal growth’ in turn underpins our principal goal of delivering high quality customer service.
