Howzat – 15 not out for Al

Been busy taking some snaps of Oaklea customer Alan – he’s just racked up an amazing 15 years working at Morrisons in Kendal. His success is partly down to the role of MLMC Plan(My Life My Choices) – it ensures people like Al get to live as independently as possible.

Alan is line managed by Morrisons Customer Assistant, April Tomlinson -who you can chatting with him about what is planned for his shift. He’s a very well known face at the Kendal store. April; “He’s really part of the fixtures and fittings here -and he’s well known amongst the staff for handing out red and yellow cards to any staff he thinks have been a bit naughty! – It’s also a good way of signalling his mood so staff know when to leave him alone -especially if he’s talking about his main love -wrestling!”

Vanessa Washington, Oaklea Lifestyle co-ordinator/support for Alan adds; “Alan normally works Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and really enjoys meeting with people and having a job that keeps him active -it’s an essential part of MLMC plans that we ensure each individual gets to rack up personal goals – that can be at work, at home or in the wider community.”

Alan will be featuring in the Oaklea Annual Report due out this Autumn -we’ll keep you posted – gotta go do that trolley dash now.
