Introducing Frances - she's 'championing' at the bit when spreading the love

Profile: Oaklea, 24th May, 2021

Essential to what Oaklea Trust does as a charity is ensuring those we support live lives as independently as possible.

A champ emerges….

So it’s particularly lovely when we can bring you a story about one of the fantastic people we support leading from the front!

South Lakes based Oaklea customer, Frances, has just led a cracking session of ‘Frances says’ - a hybrid version of ‘Simon Says’ (definitely a name that’s worth ignoring…lol).

Frances & Kelvin agree terms for what constitutes a champion day out…

We don’t need reams of text to explain as these pictures, taken by support Pauline Coulthard say all you need to know!

Pauline: “It was a great day. We had 5 tables, all socially distanced, from our Oaklea houses in Kendal. The whole thing was safe and we followed all the Covid guidelines, but more importantly…. There were lots of happy, smiling faces. The highlight being a game of seated “Frances says”. Plus a few games of bingo, and a lovely afternoon tea, with lots of cake.”

You can see a variety of the top Oaklea team who work in the Kendal area too -see if you can spot some familiar faces…

Above: In full swing - Oaklea’s (another) Pauline holding it together well

Below: Alice in the mix….

Below: Alan with support Nicola - Al taking Nicola’s anecdotes in his stride

Is that the time? - It’s time for tea… pressure….

Below: Arise ‘Three amigos’ - raising a glass, raising a hand & raising applause…what’s not to like - Oaklea’s Karen ‘KK’ Kidd caught in the middle of the fun -again!

Above: Terry clearly has a hand on all this - plus like everyone -about to take his ‘hat off’ to Frances….a well done all round pardner!

Without doubt everyone agreed it was a ‘stand out’ session…

Frances -and everyone else clearly living the Oaklea ‘working behaviours’……a reminder below!
