The Oaklea Trust provide a range of care and support for families with disabled children including respite care, leisure clubs and activities.

Depending on the requirement of you or your family, this can mean short-term respite care (pre-school, after school or both) in the form of social, leisure and activity clubs, all of which provide developmental opportunities for children.

The chances are that your personal situation is very different to the next person. If you are in need of more involved or long term assistance, the Oaklea Trust provide care and support services which are tailored to your own needs.

Here is a quick testimonial from a family who the Oaklea Trust support:

"Our family was in real crisis, however we all feel much more positive now, no longer isolated and trying to do everything ourselves. It has been good to find people who really understand the challenges of caring for an autistic child.

We would like to say a big thanks to all of the team. We appreciate the cheerful but quiet and understated way in which the support staff go about their work."

For children, we are able to work in mainstream or special provision schools where our team can provide learning support expertise and well as any necessary care an individual may require.

We can assist with their development through senior school, college and further education, helping with practical issues such as transport and mobility and the inevitable scenarios of independent living and lifestyle planning.

You can be assured that we don't operate a 'one hat fits all' approach. Instead, we offer you and each of our customers a bespoke approach. You will be assigned a ‘Child and Youth Worker’ to work alongside the child and family; they will work flexibly with the family to provide the appropriate support at the times requested.

The one common factor, however, is that everything we do is customer focused and designed to achieve the highest and appropriate level of independence for you and your family.
