Great news to share with you today – Our Community Interest Company (CIC) Right2Work has been declared the winner at the Cumbria Social Enterprise Awards! At the ceremony they were named ‘Cumbria Social Enterprise of the Year‘.
From the organisers:
“There were five categories for the awards to mark the work social enterprises have been doing over the past year, rising above the crisis situation caused by Covid to adopt new ways of working and even delivering new services. As well as the prestige, the five winners receive £750 cash for their social enterprise and the runners-up £250. So whether you’re big or small, well established or have just started out on your journey, there’s an award that could have your name on it!”
….and yes we’ve got the big one….!
Regional Manager for R2W, Pete Bradbury was really pleased when we caught up with him - he was about to share the great news with the teams at R2W Headquarters in Kendal. Why did he think R2W beat off the rest?
A huge pat on the back to all connected with R2W across Cumbria – The Furniture Warehouse, Appleby Hub, Community Works, Work & Learn, The Eden Workshop and Youth Futures.

The story made the local media - example from the Westmorland Gazette (we will forgive them for the topsy turvy digger! Our team at Community Works of course can tackle most angles on a job!)
