Go on spread a little kindness

Profile: Oaklea, 17th Sep, 2019

Wednesday 13 November has been declared #KindCumbria day. As you are aware a key element of the Oaklea Vision is ‘We believe in Kindness’ (If you didn't know -go to - http://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/about-us/the-oaklea-vision)

It’s part of a campaign underway across Cumbria – but fear not all our colleagues and customers across the Oaklea Norht of England patch will be joining in too! It’s to encourage neighbourliness, tackle isolation, build friendships etc – basically nurture kindness – hence the #KindCumbria strapline you may see in social media etc. It’s being steered by the Third Sector through ACT (Action for Cumbria). A meeting was held yesterday where it was agreed to hold a #BeKind Day on Wednesday 13 November (snap above shows a kindly bunch of reps from key partners - Oaklea, Cumbria County Council Community Development, Acorn PR, Cumbria CVS & ACT)

Oaklea will be encouraging our teams & customers involved in any act of being friendly, kind and so forth, to do something around this date/or on it – like running an errand, putting on a meal, helping someone out, sorting tea etc (the list is endless –and it can be through our day jobs -after all being kind is what we do!). We will also collate images and quotes - this will go on a ‘kindness wall’ at ACT + entry to a photo comp for best example of #KindCumbria.
