The Social Care Commitment is a voluntary agreement about workforce quality. The primary purpose of the commitment is to ensure that public confidence for people who need care and support services will always be supported by skilled people who treat them with dignity and respect.

Employers promise to give their employees the development they need, and staff members promise to put social care values into practice in their daily work.

The employee statements that Oaklea Trust will be working to are:

Working Responsibly - we will always take responsibility for the things I do or don’t do.

Upholding Dignity - we will always promote and uphold the privacy, dignity, rights, health and wellbeing of the people who need care and support.

Working Co-operatively - we will work co-operatively with others to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care and support.

Communicating Effectively - we will communicate in an effective way to promote the wellbeing of people who need care and support.

Protecting Privacy - we will respect people’s right to confidentiality; protecting and upholding their privacy and dignity.

Continuing to Learn - we will improve the quality of the care and support I provide by constantly reflecting on and updating my own knowledge, skills and experience.

Treating People Fairly - we will promote equality, diversity and inclusion by treating all people fairly and without bias.
