We want your views on Alston Old Primary -Consultation event

As part of the ongoing discussions regarding our support for plans to transform the former Alston Old Primary school - we are assisting with a consultation event tomorrow (Saturday 29 February).

Just before Christmas Oaklea announced they were supporting the ‘Alston Old Primary Working Group’ with their aim of transforming the old Primary School site into a thriving community enterprise.(more background here Alston Primary - a community hub?)

Tomorrow the group are holding a public consultation session 1000-1200 in the Main Hall at Samuel Kings Secondary School. JTU.

It will be a chance for you to…

-find out the present position of the possible transfer of the property from Cumbria County Council to Cumbrian charity, The Oaklea Trust
-learn about the proposals to create a new health and wellbeing centre for residents of and visitors to Alston Moor
-tell us what you would like to see in the new health and wellbeing centre
-let us know if your group or organisation would like to become part of the project
-consider joining the local steering group to help Oaklea and be a link to the local community
-if you would like a questionnaire either, as an organisation or supporter, in advance then please email a request to Chris Reed from the Working Group: Contact Chris

Oaklea Operations Director, Alex Wolfenden will also be on hand to answer any queries.
