Wishlist to host first Upcycling Auction

A date for your diaries: On 18th November 2016, we will be hosting out first ever Upcycling Auction to raise money for our Wishlist fund.

This summer we will be busy preparing for our first ever Upcycling Auction. We are very excited and this will be a new venture for us in a bid to keep our Wishlist fund nicely topped up.

Back in 2014, we did some work with a group of students from the University of Cumbria, who came up with the auction as part of a marketing proposal. We loved the idea and thought it was a great opportunity to promote the work of our subsidiary Community Interest Company: Right2Work. Right2Work are the team behind our Furniture Warehouse in Kendal, who have been teaching and learning upcycling skills for some time now! Using the Furniture Warehouse as inspiration we are planning a fantastic evening of Upcycling, which will include donated lots from talented and creative local upcycling businesses.

50% of proceeds from the auction will go to the contributor, and 50% will come to Wishlist. There will be plenty of other ways to get involved on the night even if you don’t fancy picking up a paddle. We’ll be selling Oaklea gift boxes in time for Christmas (dare we think about that yet…) and there will be a grand prize draw too so save the date in your diary today and keep an eye out for the ticket release date which will be announced shortly.

In the meantime, we are looking for upcyclers who might like to get involved and donate something. Stalls are available on the night too so a great chance to meet some potential new fans! If you would like to get involved you can get in touch at fundraising@oakleatrust.co.uk or on 01539 735025.

We hope you can join us on the night!
