You really can have your cake and eat it!

Golden Moments is a project run by Oaklea Trust that combats isolation, builds friendships and offers shared experiences and so forth in a safe environment. It runs every fortnight for vulnerable adults. They've just had a highly successful pampering day in Kendal where customers got to try out all kinds of different things ranging from getting nails done to hand massages. This was all rounded off by a cracking home made proper scrummy afternoon tea!

The inspiration for the vast array of scrumptious grub came from Support Worker Pauline Coulthard - mountains of the finest cut sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, cakes, and meringues with fresh fruit - sweet tooth heaven!

But it wasn’t just about satisfying tummy cravings….as the images show it was a day all about a good pamper….and making customers feel that bit special. In fact they really had the day nailed on!

No tickling! - Alan suitably impressed with a hand massage from Oaklea Operations Director, Alex Wolfenden! (she’s very hands on)

Golden Moments South Lakes is run in conjunction with Kendal based Riversiders - an adult social club for vulnerable adults with a variety of needs. The sessions include knit & natter, trips out, panto, cinema etc.Golden Moments also available in North Cumbria via Carlisle Oaklea team.
