We believe in young people.

We aim to offer support at every stage of a young person’s life. Our team seeks to promote young people’s personal & social development and enable them to have a voice, influence and place in their communities and society as a whole. It aims to build resilience and character and give young people the confidence and life skills they need to live, learn, work and achieve.

In essence we now offer for Eden, Furness & South Lakes:

-Support at School 1 to 1

-Clubs, activities & groups

We offer support to Young people at every stage of their life 0-18 years -depending on the age of your child you can access either group activities or individual support.

We run activities for young people aged in South Lakeland, Furness & Eden

Below - Youth Team Leader Jack has been running regular walks for Tuesday clubs - being resourceful during Covid19 restrictions

Young people in the Eden Valley: Appleby Youth Group

The club is up and running face to face for those aged 11+ every Wednesday 1900-2100 (At Appleby Hub)

Activities for young people with disabilities (0-8 & 8-18 years)

Activities for those aged 0-8 and those 8-18 - will be posted on our Facebook page Oaklea Young People (please note subject to change due to ongoing Covid19 restrictions).The activity programme is designed specifically (ages 8-18) to give children and young people with disabilities a variety of supported activities to take part in. (see latest listing below)

Using local venues, we run a variety of after school term time clubs and activities. During school holidays we offer a range of full and half day sessions such as bowling and fun days. Parents and carers can have a real break whilst children can make friends, learn new skills and have fun!


We use local providers to ensure that a range of quality activities to suit all ages, abilities and interest are offered. 20th July - Barrow - Summer picnic in the park + sport

10am – 4pm meeting at Barrow Park to have a day playing sports and a picnic.

Young people to provide own lunch, sunscreen and water.

21st July - South Lakes - Kepplewray Activity Centre, Coniston (Canoe, archery, box stacking…)

Meeting at Kendal Leisure Centre at 9am. Session from 10am – 4pm, pickup at 5:15pm from Leisure Centre. Activities provided by centre – Archery, Canoeing, Box Stacking.

Young people to provide own lunch, sunscreen and water.

28th July - Barrow - Walney Nature Resrve walk (see the seals)

Meet at Walney Nature Reserve. 10am – 4pm walk, seal spotting and picnic on the dunes.

29th July - South Lakes - Kendal River walk (possible picnic along the way and some sporty activity)

Meeting at Lads and Girls Club 10am, 4pm pickup. Walk along the River Mint with a picnic in the middle of the day.

3rd August - South Lakes - Sports Day in Kendal

Meeting at Lads and Girls Club 10am, 4pm pickup. Walk to nearby park for a sports day activity session.

Meeting at Kendal Leisure Centre at 9am, 10am – 4pm at Grizedale for Woodland walk, playing in the park and café lunch, pickup at 5:15pm.

26th August - Barrow - Grizedale (as above)

Meeting from Barrow Park (leisure centre) at 9am, 10am – 4pm at Grizedale for Woodland walk, playing in the park and café lunch (menus to be provided soon), pickup at 5:15pm.
