We take safeguarding seriously.
“Our approach to safeguarding is all about keeping people safe, protecting their welfare and supporting them to learn, develop and thrive.” Jenna Hall, CEO Oaklea Group
What to do if you have a concern?
You have several options should you be concerned about abuse or neglect:
- If there is immediate danger, call 999.
- Contact the Oaklea Safeguarding Team.
- Report your concerns to the Local Authority Safeguarding team.
The Oaklea Safeguarding Team
We have a dedicated team of trained Designated Safeguarding Leads. Please contact us for advice or to report a concern. We are here to support you.
Email: safeguarding@oakleatrust.co.uk
Telephone: 01539 735025 (Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm)
What happens when you report your concern?
- The information you provide will be taken seriously.
- The people you have contacted will ensure your safety.
- You will be given information on what steps will be taken next.
- We will advice you of additional support services.
What are the next steps?
Once our safeguarding process is complete, you will be contacted by one of the following: a member of our Senior Team, our HR team, the Local Authority, or another agency such as the Police.
They may ask you to talk through your report. This is not a test — they are checking their understanding of your concerns. They may ask extra questions or request more details. If you do not have any further information, please say so.
After reports are submitted, we may be asked to work with other organisations, staff, the Local Authority, the Police, or other professional agencies to help gather facts, evidence, or statements. In these circumstances Oaklea must support the process by providing full and accurate information promptly. It is not Oaklea’s role to make decisions, give opinions, or carry out the investigation.
If you believe your concern has been insufficiently addressed, please escalate it to Oaklea. We will listen, review your feedback promptly, and ensure it receives appropriate attention.
