Reflecting on new challenges!
The Oaklea Group have appointed Andy Darby as their new Finance Director, he will join the group in November.

Welcome aboard -It’s Darby day for Andy
“The Trustees, Jenna Hall, Group CEO and the Executive Team are delighted that Andy is joining the team. Through the interview process he demonstrated his experience at a strategic level, his commitment to our values and a strong understanding of how to prepare for and, ultimately, realise growth. He confidently expressed how his previous experience in the corporate sector can and will translate to the charitable and social enterprise sector and his personal commitment to the cause.” The Oaklea Executive Team
“Empowering communities”
“Hi, I’m very proud to soon be joining Oaklea Trust as your Finance Director. The passion, care and skill I’ve seen in the team so far is so impressive, and I’m looking forward to learning more about all of the ways in which we are empowering our customers and communities.” Andy Darby
Looking to the future
We caught up with Andy earlier this morning along the banks of the River Kent as he took time to reflect on what he hopes to bring to the role:
Who is Andy Darby?
We shed some (Stadium of) light on our new Finance supremo.
“In my decade of working in professional services, I’ve always endeavoured to strengthen organisational foundations, build strong links between functions, and to give my teams the best possible tools to achieve success. I can’t wait to bring this to Oaklea.”

Sunderland AFC you say?
“Outside of work, you’d usually find me outdoors, walking and running in the fells, or swimming and paddling on the lakes, sometimes accompanied by my dog, Moose. Either that or I’d be indulging in my many hobbies: reading, improving my mediocre Spanish, experimenting with photography, or watching sports, probably the football and my hometown team, Sunderland. Feel free to check in when we’ve just won and not mention it if we’ve lost.”
Transfer window opens – We await his arrival later this Autumn

“I look forward to meeting you all in November.”
