The many faces of giving back

This week is National Trustee Week – and it’s a great excuse for us to show the many faces of volunteering! But first lets celebrate those we support…

So make Bay for Robert – ready for the big reveal

Curtain raiser to giving back

Robert Woods has started giving his time to volunteering at Bay Search & Rescue charity shop in Kendal and loves it:

Volunteering – Just the ticket!

Robert loves being involved in the day to day stuff in the shop, meeting customers and helping out in any duties required.

Without volunteers…

Abigail Shepherd, General Manager at Bay Search & Rescue says the organisation wouldn’t function without volunteers…

What is Bay Search & Rescue?

“Since 1999 Bay Search & Rescue a volunteer team and charity based in Flookburgh, have been working away very quietly, but very hard, solving some of the problems faced by Rescuers when trying to safely navigate the unpredictable sands of Morecambe Bay. And then once navigated how to best extract those unfortunate men, women, children, animals and vehicles trapped by the notorious sands, before the next tide!” Bay Search & Rescue

Talking of giving back

Oaklea and Right2Work CIC also depends on those giving their time – our volunteer Trustees and Board members… You can see them this week at our AGM held at the Roundthorn Hotel, Penrith.

It was also the final AGM for our soon to be retiring CEO, Clive Wigley (seen with Oaklea Chair, Chris Harris and Right2Work Chair, Julia Wood)

Meanwhile back on the catwalk…

Watch out the fashionistas of Milan….look who’s gonna be hanging out in Lakeland! (especially when Oaklea’s Karen Kidd involved!)
