Giving back – we have this from all angles!
Throughout the year we have told you about some of our people giving back in their communities across the North – especially those we support.
But before we reveal more with Helen…

Here’s some we made earlier – Durham double act
Dan & Calum, who Oaklea support from Seaham, County Durham – have been getting stuck in. Dan even got an award from Durham County Council for his volunteering activities. Meanwhile his pal Calum is a volunteer at World Heritage Site – Durham Cathedral.

Scope for more top people – Now joining them
Helen, who we support in South Lakes – has been volunteering at the Scope charity shop in Kendal. We caught up with her and support, Pauline.

“Scope – We campaign to transform attitudes to disability, tackle injustice and inspire action. We create opportunities and provide information and support that empowers.”
The gift that keeps on giving
Helen goes to volunteer at the Scope shop on Highgate every other week. She’s busy putting together Festive goody bags – Well have a listen to what she’s been up to with Support Pauline – If you listen carefully a new Xmas duo may have been revealed -so watch your chimneys come Christmas Eve! (and an extremely helpful non virtual assistant….QVC shopping channel may beckon?)
Helen – Jewel in our crown!
Helen puts her gift bags on display – she’s also helped create the jewellery quarter too! All part of empowering those we support!

Every little helps…simply flying in!
Much of what Helen is learning & doing is also going towards a big craft stall being held in November through the sessions she attends weekly at the Lads & Girls Club -she’s also done the marketing for the event! (Oops Webmaster now worried about potential competition!)

Registering some top people!
A huge thank you to Rebecca Wilson (Assistant Manager) and the team at Scope for providing such a lovely environment for our people to shine!

Did someone say it’s brew time?
After all that hard graft…time for a well earned brew! (even for Mother Christmas’s Helen & Pauline!)

And lets face it – we can always make time for a cheeky dab!
