Reaching new heights with Geoffrey & Mary
Over the years we have brought you up to speed with what two of our lovely people we support in Northumberland get up to – yes we’re talking about the legendary Northumbrian duo – Mary & Geoffrey!
Planes, trains & caravans?

They’ve really been seizing the recent great weather and making the most of their time outdoors thanks to our care staff – three of whom get bigged up here – Jayne, Chris & Andrea. So as they’ve been so busy – we asked them to tell us in their own words what they’ve been up to – lets depart.
Now departing from platform G in Newcastle

“Hello all, I went for a ride on the new LNER diesel engine Mark 4 train. I chatted with Donna the Customer Engagement & Platform manager, she showed me how the baton works to signal the guard. I sat on the platform taking numbers because I’m a train spotter but I call myself an anorak. Then I watched the buses and cars while having a coffee with my support worker Chris Mulraney – Thank you for a nice day out.” Geoffrey

Meanwhile it’s all blooming marvellous back in Rothbury!

“Lots of work going on in our gardens. Geoffrey chose plants, and I planted them wearing my important gardeners apron. Geoffrey likes the new hose on a reel so he can easily water the garden. I painted a bee house, still waiting for them to move in, all supported by their team in Rothbury. More to come because we aren’t finished yet, its a work in progress.” Mary & Geoffrey

Geoffrey says – ‘must fly’

“I had a lovely day out to Eshott Airfield near Morpeth, supported by Andrea Lamb. I had a coffee while looking at the info magazine. I saw old planes, it was fantastic.” GeoffreyÂ
We’re sitting comfortably in Whitley Bay

“Hello again Oaklea, I have been on my holidays to Whitley Bay. Caravans are my favourite. My support worker Jayne Wilkinson and I had a lovely time. We visited Tynemouth, we went to the beach and we saw the lighthouse. I didn’t win on the bingo and my caravan was very posh. Here are some photos.” From Mary in Rothbury

Journey’s end – for now
Sometimes it’s just lovely watching the world go by -as Geoffrey found having a coffee opposite Newcastle Central station…
