This week a group of intrepid Oaklea customers and staff from Barrow in Furness have been living the light fantastic at Center Parcs, Whinfell Forest near Penrith.
Are we sitting comfortably – then Dawn will begin!
Luckily we have our own superhero of narration, Dawn McCracken, who led the trip, to give us the lowdown on what they got up to….
Day 1 Soft landing for some ‘Parc Life’
“We arrived safely and settled in well…
“We went to the Italian restaurant for some yummy pizza and pasta followed by a sauna to ready us for a fun filled day tomorrow.”
Day 2 Reaching new heights!
“The guys started the day off with a good warm breakfast. First activity of the day was Mark doing the Zip Wire and Tree Trek Adventure – he had no fear but my heart was in my mouth. We all then went for a walk through the Winter Wonderland and enjoyed toasted marshmallows .Finally we all went bowling and then headed back to the lodge to chill in the hot tub!”

Day 3 A little Elf from our friends…
“First stop – we indulged in hot chocolate before heading to the Owl Sanctuary but on our way staff were persuaded to participate on the swings! Mark and Tracy then took to the Pool table which the final score was 1-1 to each of them. Then a walk through the Winter Wonderland and everyone received a gift off the elves for being on Santa’s nice list.”
Day 4 – Where we going – give us a clue!
“First stop for our final day was The Pancake House and the food was delicious. Myself and Tracy then got into the Christmas spirit and went wreath making whilst the other guys spent time in the Sports Plaza doing activities. The afternoon started off with us going to see the Christmas panto – The Wizard of Oz and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.”
She’s such a pro…
“Finally myself and Mark got to do The Aqua Jets and we are now the latest Oaklea Trust pro’s on Aqua Jets! Mark’s own words were this is amazing. Last activity of the holiday was bird table building. Sadly our holiday is over but Centre Parcs you have been so much fun and we have made so many memories.”
