Jemma & Dan LA -websize

Here’s one she made earlier!

“It’s so good to see how Jemma has benefited from our activities -and it’s wonderful to see her growth and development over the past 6 or 7 years.” Matthew ‘Mr Matty’ Douglas, Children & Young People’s Team Manager

As an organisation there is nothing greater than seeing those we support blossom -and that can take many forms. In this case we want to share a tale of a young person who has been with us for some time -and is now celebrating a first foot on the employment ladder!

A round of applause please for “Jemma with a J”!

Remember – it’s Jemma with a J!

We’ve just taken Jemma Marsden on as an Assistant Youth Group worker! (After getting through the panel interview and some tricky questions…she’s made it!)

Phew – I’ve made it!

Recipe for success -Volunteer in the mix

Over the past year Jemma with a J has been gaining skills & experience volunteering with our Youth Groups – in fact you could say she’s been the perfect recipe! Here you can see her busy on our HAF programme in 2022… (More on HAF https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/holiday-activities-fund/)

Rolling back the (Jemma) years

Jemma has been on our Short Breaks activities over the past few years (Find out about Short Breaks here https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/short-breaks/)

There’s someone else celebrating too!

Mum, Christine Marsden is ever so pleased with her achievement – we caught up with her in the Youth Club kitchen making a celebratory cuppa!

Welcome aboard Jemma!

Oaklea Youth Team Leader/Supremo Danielle Sutcliffe: “I’m really excited for Jemma to officially join the team as a member of staff. Jemma has been with Oaklea since before I joined the charity – I feel so lucky to have her with us. Every afterschool youth group club, holiday activity, HAF day, Jemma has been with us on almost every single activity Oaklea has provided. She’s well loved by both us as a Youth Team and our Young People. She’s a fantastic member of the team and I can’t wait to continue working with her as she progresses with her work.”

Oh – and maybe we have another prospective team member….’Mum’s the word’!

Christine takes the helm on activity planning!

Smallprint -Webmaster adds -“We know Jemma just likes to get on with stuff and avoid the camera at times (!) but she deserves an enormous amount of credit for stepping up! Having attended many trips & activities over the past few years with her – I know -we know- what an impact she has made”

Where are we based?
