Raise your cups for folks living the life!

As usual in Oaklealand there’s always something going on…and you wait for several lively images of people we support living the life and….

Tracy from Barrow on sparkling form!

She’s been enjoying a spa day at the Whitewater Hotel at Newby Bridge made possible thanks to Support Laura.

Talking of being well wrapped…

Shane from Wattsfield had quite a week in London with Oaklea’s Sam – he saw his beloved Arsenal smash Man City 5-1….But we never heard from him again -as midweek the Gunners were shot down in the League Cup by Newcastle!

Shane tries to beef up the Arsenal attack!

Sam Seagull flies in…

Doing a trip like this takes a fair bit of legwork and needs planning, patience and a fine hoodie -as Oaklea Support Sam ‘Seagull’ Upton explains:

Time to pass the ball to – George!

This week marks National Apprenticeship Week (go to #NAW2025) – something we big up every year (previously we have focussed on social care apprentices Paige in County Durham and Niamh in South Lakes)

George Ireland – who is our Property Maintenance Trainee at Right2Work Community Works -is on an Apprenticeship via Kendal College. Here he tells us why he’s enjoying learning on the job:

There’s more about George and Apprenticeship Week here on the R2W website https://www.right2work.org.uk/community-works/doors-opening-nat-apprenticeship-week/

From model apprentices to…

Model volunteer!

Oaklea Team Manager at New Road, Vanessa Washington gives us a high fashion update on Helen who has been volunteering at the Scope charity shop (reminder here when we caught up with her back in October https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/giving-back-we-have-this-from-all-angles/

“She’s busy doing the banking for Scope and doing the window display!  Oh and modelling the perfect Jacket.” Vanessa adds.

“They think it’s all over….then Kelvin appears!”

If all this activity wasn’t enough – Kelvin has been shooting from the hip at the Flower Bowl at Garstang nr Preston!

All this excitement makes us hungry…..so it’s rather handy that Alice has prepared homemade carrot soup!

Any going spare Alice?

“Soups you sir”

If all this strikes a chord….why not join us – you can see our latest social care opportunities here https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/work-with-us/ (or register interest for the future)
