Rocking the ‘Pool!

The Oaklea Mission “To support & care for people and communities so they can learn, develop & thrive – be it in water or on stage!”

Curtain raisers….

If music be the food of…..

Oaklea is truly rockin’ it on this one! (and in more ways than you suspect…)

Hats off to Alice!

Are you ready to rock to some water music?

What do the following two tales have in common – well they both involve costumes & getting dressed up, rocking out & making a splash! They’re all about those we support living their best lives of course….

Having fun – at a stretch!

‘Blackpool Rock’ – in the best possible taste!

Our Short Breaks half term trip took in the fabulous ‘School of Rock’ musical at Blackpool Grand Theatre (To see if you are eligible for SB go to https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/short-breaks/). The show proved a big success with our young people – can you tell?

We’re with the band…..Class dismissed!

The reviews are in….the most astute critics give it a big thumbs up!

“He really enjoyed it! Alaina McKinlay-Rooke, mum of Alfie

“Thank you for a brilliant day – my son has a brilliant knack of avoiding the camera!” Mum of Cameron, Nicky Waters

Pooling our resources

It’s not just the rockers who are getting in costume, pulling funny faces and generally having a grand old time…

If the cap fits….

Alice with Andrea Aldridge & Nina Bale from Manna House – ready with beach towel, swimming caps, swimsuit and bundles of good vibes….(not optional!)

Bathing beauties emerge!

Our Alice is doing her bit for a fellow charity. She’s heading to the rock pool – for the Manna House sponsored Pool Pals event.

Alice with ‘coach’ Jill!

She goes to Manna House (who support the homeless and other disadvantaged people in the Kendal area – more here https://www.manna-house.org.uk/ ) every week as she loves it there. It’s a chance to catch up with friends and have some yum food! So she wanted to put something back…by doing a sponsored swim!

Alice won’t forget….It’s a date!

Nina Bale – who looks after the ‘Friends of Manna House’ (& the brains behind the Pool Pals idea) presented Alice with a thank you calendar – so she will be able to mark her big date with pool side destiny! (The event is Saturday 24th February at Kendal Leisure Centre 2 to 4pm)

Save the date Alice!

Note: If you want to sponsor Alice – call us 01539 735025 or enquiries@oakleatrust.co.uk

A towering performance all round…..

Our folks illuminate Blackpool!

Where are we based?
