‘Edenside’ Residential Home Appleby

Proposed purchase & conversion of former ‘Edenside’ residential home – Appleby, Cumbria

The Oaklea Trust is currently preparing to purchase and apply for grant funding to assist in the conversion of ‘Edenside’ residential home in Appleby, Cumbria. The plan is to transform ‘Edenside’ into self contained and extra care accommodation for the elderly.

Oaklea Trust would like to convert the building from a traditional and tired residential environment, into high quality extra care housing arranged into sixteen self contained apartments.

‘Edenside’ was previously a care home for the elderly within Appleby that was affected by the Storm Desmond flood in the Winter of 2015 and to this day remains closed.

The proposal is in line with Cumbria County Council’s Extra Care Housing and Supported Living Strategy 2016-2025.
